Spirit Packs for Students

Everyone is welcome at tam.jpeg

This grant will supply "spirit packs" to students with financial needs. Each pack includes a sticker that gives access to major events, a yearbook, and Tam High merchandise. Additionally, funds will be used at the end of the school year to ensure all students can attend prom and/or the senior trip. The hope is to make all students feel part of the larger school community.

Success Network

Tutor

This robust collective-impact initiative serves Tam High students from low-socioeconomic backgrounds. The Network provides timely intervention for both academic and emotional concerns and offers mentors and appropriate services. The goal is to guide students toward graduation from high school and prepare them for college or university.

Young Scholars Academy

This program builds leadership, self-regulation, awareness, and advocacy skills in Tam High's young men of color. Scholars meet twice a week during the fall, go on field trips, and connect with mentors and guest speakers. The goal is to provide opportunities for personal growth that encourage higher engagement with the school community.

WISE Mentoring

This yearlong program trains juniors and seniors to mentor freshmen and sophomores who need academic, organizational, or social-emotional support. Mentoring duos meet once a week during tutorial for the entire school year. Mentors are also enrolled in the WISE Mentoring class and receive in depth training to prepare them.

BTGCP serves students from Marin City and several other low-income areas within the district. It provides homework support, subject-specific tutoring, one-on-one skill-building, and college-readiness counseling. It also provides critically needed credit remediation support during the summer months in partnership with the Tamalpais Union High School District.

Avid Swag

Students participating in Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) will receive sweatshirts, similar to how Tam's sports programs distribute jerseys or shirts to players. AVID works to close the achievement gap and help students get college and career ready. This program targets the least served students in the academic middle.
